Introduction
The program was introduced in 2015 as a complement to the four medical programs at Nahda College, The field of nursing has gained increasing importance with the growing awareness of patient health and satisfaction. However, there is still a pressing need for greater awareness to change society’s perception of the nursing profession in Sudan.
This program holds local, regional, and global significance. It has been designed in alignment with the college’s standards, the Nursing Education Model set by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the standards of the National Council for Medical and Health Professions as the regulatory body for nursing, and the guidelines of the World Health Organization (WHO).
The program follows a credit hour system in its educational approach.
It is implemented using a course outline structure.
It employs an academic supervision system for students.
General Program Objectives and Responsibilities
1. Curriculum Development: Designing and updating curricula based on international standards to ensure compliance with quality and accreditation criteria.
2. Curriculum Implementation: Monitoring curriculum execution with strict adherence to the academic calendar.
3. Student Assessment: Developing and overseeing student evaluation methods, including exams, tests, and coursework, ensuring alignment with the curriculum and accurately reflecting student performance based on global standards.
4. Student Support: Providing academic and behavioral guidance to help students integrate into university life, navigate critical phases, and maximize their potential.
5. Exam Administration: Preparing and reviewing exams, resits, and alternatives within departments, followed by submission to the Professional Development Center (EDC) to ensure alignment with quality standards (difficulty level, passing rate, reliability, and standardization).
6. Exam Evaluation: Correcting exams, recording results, analyzing them, and approving them at the program level before submission to the Coordinators’ Council, maintaining complete confidentiality.
7. Strategic Planning: Ensuring the availability of qualified teaching and support staff, along with necessary resources, well in advance of the academic year.
8. Collaboration & Partnerships: Establishing connections and partnerships with similar institutions to enhance program development, faculty qualification, and continuous training opportunities.
9. Research & Publication: Encouraging research, publication, and authorship, linking incentives to faculty members' commitment to these goals.
10. Community Engagement: Contributing to social responsibility by actively participating in public benefit programs aligned with the college’s policies.
