Introduction:
The Laboratory Sciences Program is an academic university program that teaches
laboratory technology and prepares qualified students, particularly those
holding the Sudanese Secondary School Certificate or its equivalent. The
bachelor's degree is completed in 149 credit hours, and the curriculum is
divided across eight semesters. Upon graduation, the student is specialized in
one of the following fields of medical laboratory science:

Disease Tissues and
Cell Biology
2.
Hematology and Blood
Immunology
3.
Microbiology and
Immunology
4.
Clinical Chemistry
5.
Parasitology and
Medical Entomology
In addition to the regular program, students who excel
in their studies are given the opportunity to complete two additional
semesters, earning a total of 179 credit hours to graduate with an honors
bachelor's degree.

The program is committed to graduating highly skilled and specialized technical
staff, capable of performing tasks with competence. This is achieved through
utilizing a variety of resources, including advanced and modern teaching
methods, human resources, and the latest advancements in laboratory technology
for teaching, training, and scientific research.
Learning Outcomes
This curriculum provides the graduate with the required
competence in knowledge, skill and
attitude so as to:
1. Receive and collect the right specimens meant for
investigation.
2. Perform the right laboratory tests for diagnosis of
diseases.
3. Dispense safely the residues and the expired materials.
3. Keep the confidentiality of the patients.
4. Properly dispatch the results of investigations without
undue delay.
5. Keep records and report when necessary to the specified
authorized body.
6. Be able to work as a team member and an eligible leader.
